Stroll the grounds of the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and you will hear music that is indigenous to the shepherd’s life. Weaving songs, airs, jigs, reels, strathspeys, hornpipes, waltzes fill the air. Bagpipes, harps, fiddles, whistles, flutes, mandolins, guitars, banjos, and hammered dulcimers ring throughout the festival, reminding us that both music and wool have come down to us through the ages. Take time and listen to the music and take some home with you. The official CD “Music from the Sheep & Wool Festival” can be purchased in the T-shirt building. The musicians themselves have a wide range of recordings that will keep the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival alive for you throughout the year!

Thank you!

Another Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival has come and gone, and we could not have done without all of you – Festival goers, volunteers, Festival Committee members, shepherds, and participants in so many activities, competitions and demonstrations! It is amazing to see this come together with all categories of participants contributing to its success. We tried some new things this year, and had a little bad weather to deal with, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding, support, and good cheer. Thanks to everyone for participating in our 44th celebration of all things sheep & wool! We are already thinking about how to do even better next year!

In Peace,
