Fleece Standards:

Fleeces must be from the current (2007-2008) wool crop and represent no more than 15 months growth. Each fleece must be clean, free of chaff, burrs, tags and second cuts. They must be skirted and in a clear plastic garbage bag. The policy of the Festival is to be a broker, to make fleeces available to the spinners, and to provide a market for the producers. Producers are responsible for the accuracy of their entry forms. Producers are urged to be selective in the fleeces they enter and reasonable in the prices they set.

Anyone entering two or more fleeces must have one for sale.

Entry fees are $5 per fleece entered for competition only and $3 per fleece consigned for sale only; the fee is $6.00 per fleece consigned for both show and sale. Entry fees will be doubled on all entries postmarked after April 25, 2008. The sale price of the fleeces will be set by the producers. The MSBA commission on all fleeces will be 10% for MSBA members whose dues are current as of April 1, 2008 and 20% for non-members.

MSBA will make every effort to display and care for the entered fleeces, but assumes no responsibility for damaged, lost, stolen or erroneously sold fleeces.
