JC04 Blossom Wrap

In this 2-day class, enjoy learning how to create wool “blossoms” using colorful wool and yarns, the Baby Lock Embellisher and free-motion stitching. Your bouquet of flowers will then be incorporated onto your one-of-a-kind gorgeous nuno felted Blossom scarf or wrap, and the techniques learned can be used afterward to enhance your own creations. Some wet felting experience is suggested; however, machine-needle felting requires no previous experience just a desire to play and learn. Machines will be provided.

Participants bring: Scissors, 2 towels, container for water, felting soap, plastic mesh shelf liner and painter’s transparent drop cloth.

About the instructor: Margo Duke grew up in Glasgow, Scotland where her love of all things wool was developed and sparked by her mother’s family, some of whom still live up north in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, where they raised sheep and were Harris Tweed weavers. She has been experimenting with the Baby Lock Embellisher ever since it was introduced to the market and is a pioneer in combining machine-needle and wet felting with beautiful silks. Margo is an author of two books, Needle Felting Magic and Making More Needle Felting Magic as well as national and international magazine articles and interviews. An award winning, national and soon-to-be-international teacher, she loves sharing her felting obsession with others. Through years of experimentation with silk & wool, Margo has discovered ways to add intricate detail to her felting by combining machine-needle, free-motion stitching and wet felting
accessories.
