Blade Shearing Workshop

Our very popular blade shearing class is back again for this year’s 2013 Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. This class will be taught by Kevin Ford, world champion Blade Shearer and author of Shearing Day (the leading text on Blade Shearing). Assisting will be Emily Chamelin. Topics that will be covered include basic positions for shearing, handling the sheep, blade preparation and maintenance, as well as skirting and handling fleeces. Preference will be given to those who have been through a previous blade shearing course as we hope to go more in depth into the preparation and care of blades before and during shearing.

Class size will be dependent on the amount of sheep we are able to obtain.

Event Cost: $100.00

This workshop requires a fee and advance registration. Preregistration is mandatory. No walk-ins allowed.

Class fee of $100.00 includes a pair of blades for each participant.
