Fleece Show & Sale

General Information

Methods of handling fleeces available to producers:

Fleece Standards: Fleeces must be from the current (2012-2013) wool crop and represent no more than 15 months growth. Each fleece must be clean, free of chaff, burrs, tags and second cuts. They must be skirted and in a clear plastic bag. The policy of the Festival is to be a broker, to make fleeces available to the spinners, and to provide a market for the producers. Producers are responsible for the accuracy of their entry forms. Producers are urged to be selective in the fleeces they enter and reasonable in the prices they set. Anyone entering two or more fleeces must have one for sale. Committee reserves the right to refuse any fleeces not meeting standards.

Entry Information

Entry fees are $5 per fleece entered for competition only and $3 per fleece consigned for sale only, and $6 per fleece consigned for both show and sale. Pre-registered entries that require changes at time of delivery will incur an additional $1 fee per fleece. Entry fees will be doubled on all entries postmarked after April 23, 2013. The sale price of the fleeces will be set by the producers. The MSBA commission on all fleeces will be 10% for MSBA members (current as of April 1, 2013) and 20% for non-members.
