JC11 Cloche Hats with Dawn Edwards
Come learn the basics of felting, or expand your knowledge, as we create beautiful felt Cloche style hats, made with Merino wool roving. You’ll love the artistic possibilities, with functionality as an added bonus. We will create our hats over a template (flat resist), using wet-felting techniques. Hats will then be blocked. Proficiency Level: Suitable for all levels. We will be rolling our felt which requires some physical exertion. Please wear comfortable shoes. Bring to Class: 2-3 bath size towels. A plastic bucket/pail to hold water. Tape measure and sharp scissors. Notebook, pen, and Sharpie marker. Old pantyhose or an old t-shirt that can be snipped into strips to tie your felt bundles. A wood hat block in your head size is a great investment if you are going to be making hats in the future. Instructor will have several hat blocks to share for the blocking of hats if you do not own or wish to purchase one. If you have any cool buttons, brooches, beads, feathers, etc., they make a great addition to your hat.
Class fee: $100.
Materials fee (payable to the instructor at the start of class): $25.
