- New locations for 2022– Come explore the world of woolcrafts in the brand new Main Exhibition Annex, the new home of the Fiber Arts Demonstrations; the Make It With Wool booth; and the Skein & Garment, Sheep-to-Shawl, Junior Spinning, Fine Arts, Sheep Photo, and Sheep Promotion competitions. The Fleece Show & Sale is moving next door to the former T-Shirt Building, and the t-shirts and other Festival Gear will now be in the Bingo Hall. The Rabbit Barn, former home of the Fiber Arts Demonstrations, will now have seating for festival goers in need of a break-a much needed amenity!
- New entry hours for the Fine Arts, Sheep Photo, and Skein & Garment competitions.
- New online entry form for the Skein & Garment Competition.
- Building on what we did for the 2021 virtual festival, the former Sheep Poster Competition is now an all-electronic Sheep Promotion Competition. All entries will be made using an online entry form.
- New Authors’ Tent for book signings.
- New Creative Shearing Competition, postponed from 2020. Come to the Show Ring on Saturday at noon and see what those crazy shearers have come up with!
- Featured Breed for 2022–Border Leicester. Learn about them in the Breed Display Barn (Barn 7-8 on the map).
- Special guests Njörðr’s Wanderers.Visit them near the Sheepdog Demonstrations to see a typical seasonal trading camp from the years 800-1000, complete with merchant’s booths and tents. There will be ongoing demonstrations of various crafts, including wood, metal, leather, and textile work.
- Free class on the Basics of Cheesemaking on Saturday.
- Free Shepherd Seminars on Saturday in the Dining Hall.
- Sunday Fiber Arts Lectures by Clara Parkes and by Macrina and Stephie, the Greek Orthodox nuns behind Inglenook Fibers. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
