About Us
The focus of JRW Creations is handmade one-of-a-kind clothing & accessories featuring timeless designs, quality materials & detailed workmanship.
Sewing is my passion. It began at age nine when I made my first apron. From the beginning, I’ve loved transforming fabrics, trims and threads into wearable garments, accessories and furnishings. Sewing and the study of textiles, became the focus of 3 college degrees and my professional career with University of Maryland Extension. For 31 years, I taught the selection, use, care and construction of clothing and home furnishings to youth and adults in a non-formal education setting throughout Maryland.
Today, in my retirement, I continue my love of sewing with a custom sewing business and volunteer projects related to sewing. Much of my work is with wooI fabrics & fibers. Using wool sweaters and garments, I push the envelope, doing all those things that I once cautioned against – washing in hot water with agitation and soap, drying in a …

About Us
Ewes-ful Fiber Arts is a small farm and fiber arts business, located in Westminster, MD. Susan Withnell has been creating hand spun yarns and hand woven items for almost 20 years, often using fiber from her own animals. She raises high percentage rare breed Wensleydale sheep. Wensleydale wool is a british wool that is known as the finest luster long wool in the world. A limited amount of her farm raised Wensleydale wool roving is available for $30/pound. Susan uses this soft, long stapled fiber to spin and hand dye some of her yarns. Knitting with Wensleydale yarn produces a soft garment that will “bloom” as it is warn. The natural sheen to wensleydale yarn is unlike that of most other wool yarns. Susan’s Angora rabbits and alpaca also provide fibers for the handspun yarns. Offered for sale are handspun alpaca, angora, mohair, and camel down/silk blend yarns. The natural colored camel down/silk blend is exquisitely soft and the silk gives the yarn a natural shine. It …

About Us
Maryland Make It With Wool is a volunteer based sewing education program and competition primarily for youth. During the Competition, the handmade wool garments are judged for construction quality, fit, fashion and marketability. Divided into four age groups – a junior, senior, and adult are selected to participate in the National Competition. In addition, the top preteen receives a sewing machine.
During the Sewing With Wool School, participants study and practice sewing techniques recommended for wool fabrics. Like most activities in 2020 and 2021, the Wool Schools were cancelled as a result of the pandemic; however, the 2020 Competition was held virtually.
The Maryland Make It With Wool group has been selling Wool Wax Crème as our main fundraiser at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival for over 20 years. Proceeds from the sales of Wool Wax Crème are used to fund the Wool School and to provide wool fabrics, sewing notions and equipment to the participants. It also covers travel expenses for the Maryland winners to attend the National Competition.

About Us
Yarn Hero Fiber Arts is a colorful boutique for the knitter, spinner, crocheter, weaver, and fiber artist. Featuring unique hand-dyed, millspun yarns that work up into fun gradient stripes, traditional hand-dyed yarn, handspun yarn, and hand-dyed spinning fibers. Yarn Hero is a one-woman-owned business run by Lynnell Koser out of her home studio in Frederick, Maryland.
Yarn Hero’s signature yarn line is their ColorMix Yarn collection, a process in which the wool is hand painted first, and then sent to a local, family-run spinning mill to spin into yarn. The result is a yarn that mimics handspun yarn with exciting color changes, marling, gradients, and long striping patterns. Make sure to check out Yarn Hero’s other yarn collections: Stipple – a solid yarn that stripes with specks of color, Opaque – a traditionally dyed semi-solid, and Etch – a single ply yarn with fun gradient stripes. Yarn Hero also offers unique handspun yarn, loaded with texture and color. Mostly bulky and super bulky, these yarns are perfect …
