About Us
Dyed Dreams features limited editions of hand-painted skeins of yarn for the creative fiber artist. We are a team of three independent dyers, Janet Stollnitz, Mary Ann Robinson, and Roz Houseknecht, who began by dyeing yarns for use in their own work. Friends started asking if they would dye yarns for them. Realizing that there was a market for hand-dyed yarns, we created Dyed Dreams. In our individual home studios we produce a variety of hand-dyed wool, wool-blend, cotton-rayon, and silk yarns ranging in size from bulky to thread weights. Although we work separately, we use the same yarns and basic dyes. Surprisingly, without communicating, often our palettes are amazingly similar. Please visit our website, dyeddreams.com to see our yarn collection.

About Us
I grew up appreciating the value of handmade things. They were made of natural ingredients, filled a need, were built to last, and contained large amounts of creativity, inspiration, care and love. In a world that now seems mass – produced, disposable, and sterile I have longed to return those simpler and more fulfilling times. I began exploring the creation of my own yarns by working with my partners at Mulberry Hill Farm in Carlisle PA. They are incredibly hard-working and reliable and I would know; they are my parents. Sean (aka Dad) looks after the farm, our flock and is responsible for 70% of my home renovations. Coleen (aka Mom) is a fellow dyer, my travel partner and the most creative lady I know.
We hand-dye vibrant and beautiful colors on super-wash merino yarn, offering a variety of bases and weights. My pride and joy is our farm-raised yarn, coming from our flock that live at Mulberry Hill Farm (Mom & Dad’s house). We raise Romney/Border Leicester sheep.

Festival Exclusive
Special Festival Colorway. ‘Happy Dance’. A cheery blend of colors to lighten your mood and hope for a better year.
About Us
Known for my deep saturated colors, I have been dyeing yarn and fiber for over 35 years. Yarn is dyed on my farm then hung on the fence to dry in the sun and fresh air. While dyeing the yarn, music is always playing so I like to say I have ‘happy music infused yarn’! I also offer felting supplies and roving for spinners, all dyed in my array of colors.
I have just 2 sheep now, using their wool for my art yarn and felting projects, and sell their lovely locks.
A cottage studio is stocked with my freshly dyed yarn and roving, supplies, patterns, candles, paintings (made with wool), jewelry and felted shawls.

About Us
DAFI Alpacas, Maryland’s first alpaca breeder, is proud to offer Maryland fiber artisans, knitters and weavers quality fleece, roving and custom spun yarns. We also have a limited supply of fine alpaca products from socks to sweaters for the discriminating customer, and for your home, we offer beautiful hand woven rugs made with renewable, natural alpaca fiber.
Since 1993, DAFI Alpacas has worked to support the growth of alpaca farming in Maryland, engage and inform the public about the wonderful qualities of alpaca fiber and to be a reliable source of alpacas and alpaca products.
We currently have an abundant supply of yarns from our alpacas raised in Baltimore County and custom spun locally. Our alpaca socks, hats, gloves and unique sweaters make wonderful gifts for that “special someone” – Remember Mother’s day is coming up!
We are now in the process of shearing for spring 2021. If you are interested in raw fleece, please contact us immediately. Our herd is small, but we are able to offer a wide variety of natural fleece colors.
Please visit our website or Facebook page, DAFI Alpacas, for up-to-date information, and feel free to contact us directly with any questions or to purchase our alpaca products.
DAFI Alpacas has been an enthusiastic participant in the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival since 1994, and we look forward to seeing you all in person in 2022.
