About Us

Ewes-ful Fiber Arts is a small farm and fiber arts business, located in Westminster, MD. Susan Withnell has been creating hand spun yarns and hand woven items for almost 20 years, often using fiber from her own animals. She raises high percentage rare breed Wensleydale sheep. Wensleydale wool is a british wool that is known as the finest luster long wool in the world. A limited amount of her farm raised Wensleydale wool roving is available for $30/pound. Susan uses this soft, long stapled fiber to spin and hand dye some of her yarns. Knitting with Wensleydale yarn produces a soft garment that will “bloom” as it is warn. The natural sheen to wensleydale yarn is unlike that of most other wool yarns. Susan’s Angora rabbits and alpaca also provide fibers for the handspun yarns. Offered for sale are handspun alpaca, angora, mohair, and camel down/silk blend yarns. The natural colored camel down/silk blend is exquisitely soft and the silk gives the yarn a natural shine. It takes dye beautifully! Hand woven items include scarves, shawls and the very popular mobius. A mobius is a cross between a shawl and an infinity scarf, being one continuous loop, but wide enough to go over your shoulders like a shawl. Mobius can actually be worn doubled as well, emulating a cowl. The Ewes-ful Fiber Arts Mobius have been selling out each year as now designs in chenille, merino/tencel, and wool are created. Also, check out the larger V-shawl, which is created by weaving two long panels together. A weaving demonstration video on our web page shows how this is done! Our web page has links to very detailed and informative weaving and spinning demonstrations, as well as a brief fun video showing my young working border collie Bryn as she moves my sheep. Check them out! Browse the etsy shop, or better yet, contact Susan at or 443-340-1182 for questions or to inquire about purchases directly.

In addition to the show colorway, and one particular yarn in that colorway on sale, we will be offering free shipping through the festival weekend. No special code is needed for either the sale yarn, or the free shipping.

Festival Exclusive

Festival exclusive is the colorway “Hopeful”. There are two weights of yarn on the website in that colorway, with a show sale price, (but all of my yarns and fibers will be available to order in that special colorway).

About Us

Ellen’s 1/2 Pint Farm has been exhibiting, in the main building, at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival for close to 30 years. Our booth is always full of handpainted yarns and fibers, display garments for kits, project bags, knitting needles and assorted accessories!

We look forward to seeing everyone each May, and seeing what you have made with the yarn that you purchased the previous year. We will miss seeing everyone this year, but hope to at least get a chance to chat with all of you through our FaceBook page, and via email.

Last year we did a “corona” series of show colorways, starting with CoronaBird for the Maryland virtual show in May. This year, things are looking up! We started out this spring with a show colorway special of “Grateful” for SPA (because we are still so very grateful, we are keeping that colorway special through the show this weekend!). But now, especially with the vaccinations available, we are feeling hopeful. Therefore, we’ve got a show colorway special for this weekend, called “Hopeful”. It is inspired by the sunrise, and is a bright, cheery colorway! Please check it out and contact us if you have any questions. We plan to continue our series of show colorway specials this year with Peaceful and Joyful….stay tuned!!!

We are always available to answer questions, and email is the best way to contact us. Cannot wait to see all of you again, in person, in 2022.

About Us

Echoview Fiber Mill is a spinning mill, knitting operation, and design house based in Weaverville, NC. We make exceptionally high quality and beautifully designed home goods, accessories, and craft knitting and weaving yarns using natural fibers like wool, alpaca, silk, mohair, and organic cotton.

We are textile lovers, designers, and total creatures of comfort. Our work reflects who we are in a style that is both simple and modern. Our facility is a Gold LEED certified building, so sustainability is literally the foundation of everything we do and is taken into account in each decision we make.

We embrace an age where community means something deeply local, while also involving people all over the globe who share an interest and passion for the beauty of handmade things. Being just 15 minutes outside of downtown Asheville, and with our friends on social media, we get to constantly connect and collaborate with endlessly creative folks as they push the boundaries of the modern craft movement. We also work with friends who have been farming these rich mountains and beautifully crafting simple home goods out of locally sourced materials for generations. We’ve got one hand in the past, with our eye on the future.

About Us

Design knitting patterns for yourself, share them with friends, sell your patterns online, or submit your designs for publication!

EnvisioKnit is a software application for designing professional knitting patterns. It enables you to design patterns visually by drawing stitch symbols and yarn colors onto knitting charts. When you are done with your design, you can instantly export your pattern to PDF, Word, Open Office, SVG, PNG or a number of other formats. EnvisioKnit automatically checks your patterns for errors, writes knitter-friendly written stitch instructions for you, creates legends for your charts and compiles a stitch glossary containing all the stitches in your pattern.

Download a free demo version of EnvisioKnit Design Studio at envisioknit.com, and try it out yourself! (The free demo does everything that the full version can except save, export and print).

Check out this 15 Minute Fair Isle video and see how easy EnvisioKnit can make designing a complete knitting pattern from start to finish.

If you or anyone else receives an email claiming to be able to sell you a list of attendees of the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival, please ignore it as IT IS A SCAM.
