Festival Exclusive

A special new yarn/color introduction called Maryland, a new Spring Street Color designed just for 2020 MSWF. This color will help us as we enter a new normal and a new year!

About Us

North Light Fibers produces handcrafted artisanal yarns in our micro yarn mill on Block Island, Rhode Island. All our yarns are 100% made in the US as we wash, dye, card, spin, ply and finish the yarns in our mill. We source the finest fiber from the best locations – while the vast majority of our fibers are sourced domestically, our cashmere, for example, is from Mongolia and our Silk and bamboo from South East Asia.

We take special pride in our kettle dyed colors and color approach as our yarns include a broad range of color approaches from deep hued to heathery to marled colorways. The yarns and colors are designed to create a lovely fabric for your garment and accessory.

We also work with world class designers and support new and upcoming designers with hundreds of knitting kits designed in our yarns. Please visit northlightfibers.com to see all the yarns and knitting kits.

We hope you will visit and experience our North Light Fibers yarns.

About Us

Nistock Farms is located in the southern tier of NY state. We are just a few years from being a century farm! We fully transitioned from dairy to sheep in 2000 and continue to explore ways to showcase the versatility of wool by offering a wide variety of products. Our flock consists of about 125 registered Cotswolds and natural colored crossbreds of several breeds which give us a great range of fiber types to work with.

Nistock Farms is pleased to be an official Cotswold fiber provider in The Livestock Conservancy’s “Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em” program. We have passport stickers ready to go with your Cotswold purchase – please let us know if you need one.

Our flock provides gorgeous raw fleeces, but if raw isn’t your ‘thing’ we also make our wool into roving, knitting yarn, rug yarn, gigantic core spun yarns, spinning batts, quilting/felting batts and drop spindle kits to learn hand spinning. We have silk in many forms for your spinning, felting and blending needs and also angelina and firestar in a range of colors. We have also designed our own line of tools for the fiber artist. Digital skein winders, our 4-bobbin lazy kate – The Quad Kate – blending boards, and frames for rug hooking, rug punching and punch needle embroidery are all carefully crafted here one at a time. You can pay more but you won’t buy better!

If you need supportive materials we have books and magazines, moth repellent essential oils, and Unicorn fiber care products. We carry all sizes of Oxford punch needles, UltraPunch punch needles for punch needle embroidery and foundation cloth for both crafts.

If you need something and don’t see it here, please ask!

About Us

Neighborhood Fiber Co. was born in 2006 in a basement apartment in Washington, DC. A total city girl obsessed with color, owner Karida Collins set out to provide the world with hand-dyed yarns inspired by and named to reflect the natural beauty and diverse neighborhoods throughout the nation’s capital. Since then, she has added many more colors to reflect a multitude of neighborhoods, landmarks, and locales. Since 2011, Neighborhood Fiber Co. has made a home in Baltimore, MD, and continues to offer vibrant, one-of-a-kind colors inspired by urban landscapes.

Now beginning its 15th year of business, Neighborhood Fiber Co. currently offers 14 different yarn bases in more than 70 colors. The majority of the yarns are made with GOTS-certified Organic Merino. While it is still machine washable, this wool is free from the harmful chemicals associated with the traditional superwash process. The decision to prioritize environmental responsibility is just one aspect of Neighborhood Fiber Co.’s reputation within the fiber arts community as a company that is committed to justice, empowerment, and equality. In 2020, Karida founded the NFC Momentum Fund, a donor-advised charitable fund that has distributed more than $50k in grants to community organizations in the Baltimore community.
