About Us

We raise 9 different breeds of heritage and rare breed sheep on our farm in Southwestern Pennsylvania and produce a vast array of 100% natural, minimally processed and breed-specific roving and yarn. We are producers and participants in the Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em project as well. All of our self-raised products are just as they came off the sheep – no dyes, no blends. We also produce a very small line of artisan yarns from time to time that are created by our team from farm to needle. Check us out at therossfarm.com for all the details!

About Us

Once Upon a time, twenty two years ago, I was hit with the epiphany that my purpose in life was to make hats. Driven by my desire to start upon a journey of self fulfillment I found a felting class. On a snowy Saturday I was taught how to make felt hats and fell in love with creating fashion from natural fiber. The process of felting is a very old art that requires hot water, wool, soap, elbow grease and a few simple tools. After taking this felting class I produced a few hats and put them in my father’s country store in Stowe, Vermont. They sold immediately. These hats were light hearted and fun! After years of practice I have perfected my techniques for creating wearable art and so my hats have grown and changed from lighthearted to sophisticated. My designs are and always have been inspired by nature… flowers, trees, animals and all beautiful that surrounds me.

My hats are created in the cottage industry tradition, support local women and their families and are individually hand made using the finest materials. The production of my hats is environmentally friendly… only water, soap and wool are used. Each and every hat is one of a kind and unique to the wearer.

So! If you would like an awesome hat that is beautiful, comfortable to wear, will keep you warm and emphasizes who you are through design contact Robin and we will create your hat together. My hats are meant to function while being fashionable… wear them
in the rain and snow, the weather won’t hurt the hat and you will remain warm and dry all while looking your best!

Robin’s Hoods- where function and fashion collide.

Best,
Robin LaMonda Leone

About Us

Forty years ago I wove my first Rag Rug. Thirty years ago I had my first booth at the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival. Since that time I have recycled well over thirty ton of used cotton and wool clothing. Yarns used for the warp have always been natural fibers; wool, cotton or hemp. The tools of my trade are a pair of scissors and a 18th century counter balance loom. Energy source is from what I bring to the loom each day.

With roots planted firmly in our past, Rag Rugs continue to be a good choice for any floor, any style home. At a moment in time when we need to lessen our impact on the earth Rag Rugs will soften your step. In addition to my Rag Rugs, five years ago I introduced recycled wool sweaters in the form of hot pads or ‘Sweat’r Pads’ as I have named them. Wool is a remarkable fiber, as you know, and these hot pads not only protect your hands and surfaces from the heat they feel good as well.

Mosey over to my Etsy shop and have a look.
