As one of the largest sheep and wool events in the country, the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival attracts approximately 20,000 visitors over two days and offers a unique advertising opportunity. There are 3 main advertising opportunities – our catalog, our website, and through our sponsorship program.

Catalog Advertisements

While many festivals have switched to digital catalogs, we feel strongly that our print catalog is an important part of our identity and will continue this long-standing tradition. Our catalog contains more than 100 pages of information about the specific workshops, events, demonstrations, displays, shows, auctions, and competitions at the Festival. Over 2500 catalogs will be printed this year, with at least a third of those being mailed ahead of time to people who are eager to begin planning their visit. The remainder will be given out free of charge at the Festival. Additionally, the full catalog is available electronically on our website, increasing its reach by making it accessible to the many who may not have a printed copy. These collectible catalogs are kept by many festival attendees and used as a resource throughout the year. Since advertisers are indexed in the back, a catalog ad is a great way for customers to easily find you in the future. Catalog Advertising Deadline: January 31, 2027.

Web Advertisements

Web advertising provides year-round exposure to thousands. In addition to being displayed here on our Advertisers Page, a thumbnail of your ad will be featured in a rotation on the bottom of each page of the website. Clicking on the thumbnail will take the viewer to a full-sized version, which links directly to your web site. Web ads can be accepted at any time and run through February/March of the following year.

Sponsorships

Our sponsorship program allows your business to support a specific event at the Festival. There are various sponsorship levels which offer varying levels of exposure. Some sponsorship levels include free advertising. More detailed information.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mary Streaker, one of the founders of the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. Mary passed away yesterday, just two months shy of her 95th birthday.Mary's influence on our Festival, the Howard County Fairgrounds, and countless individuals cannot be overstated. She was a teacher, mentor, artist, leader, volunteer, and friend whose passion for education, creativity, and community helped shape the Festival we know today. Many of us were fortunate to know Mary personally. Even in recent years, she continued to attend Festival meetings when she was able, reconnecting with the volunteers and friends who had worked alongside her for decades. Her wisdom, enthusiasm, and deep commitment to preserving and celebrating the fiber arts inspired generations of volunteers, exhibitors, artists, and fairgoers.Mary's legacy lives on through the Home Arts Department, the Fine Arts and Photo Competitions, and the many traditions she helped establish and nurture. The Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival exists today in part because of the vision, dedication, and countless hours of service that Mary and her fellow founders invested so many years ago.On behalf of the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Mary's family, friends, students, and all who were touched by her remarkable life. We are grateful for her contributions, her friendship, and the enduring example she set for all of us.Mary will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.Visitation will be held at Haight Funeral Home, Sykesville, Maryland, on June 17 from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on June 18 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon at 12:30 p.m. in the Howard County Fairgrounds Dining Hall. ...
